Last year, a song called Emptiness went viral on the Internet owing to the heart-wrenching story associated with it. The song was reportedly sung by a certain Rohan Rathore from IIT Guhawati, and written for his girlfriend Supria, who left him after getting to know that he is suffering from cancer.

Although the truth was soon uncovered — there was no student by that name in the institution and such an incident never occurred — the song has already garnered amazing attention on the net. But not many people knew that the song’s original singer was Gajendra Verma. ‘Emptiness’ was his composition, which had somehow leaked on the Internet. After a long-drawn legal battle, the 22-year-old singer got the copyrights of the song. Now he is out with his debut album, which will feature six tracks, including the web hit.

“The songs range from melancholic soft ballads to Punjabi rock tracks. I have written three out of the six songs in the album,” says Gajendra. “There’s also a track in the album from the movie Bittoo Boss that I have revisited in my style. I composed this song for the film as well.”
