She is known for fusion of folk with world influences in terms of sound and feel, and singer Rajnigandha Shekhawat is back with a new album, Banna Re.

This time, the singer is concentrating only on the folk genre.
“Folk is what comes naturally to me, so, I decided to go pure folk this time... I compiled all the Rajasthani folk songs used in Bollywood and sang them the way they are sung in Rajasthan,” she said, adding, “The idea was that anyone who hears them knows that these are the originals that have inspired Bollywood.
Like Morni from Lamhe (1991), Leta Jajo Ji from Bade Miya Chote Miya (1998). Thus, my album tag-line also says: songs that inspired Bollywood.”

She concludes saying, “I decided to go back to original instruments — so people will hear Morchang, Been, Algoza, Chang, Rawanhattha, Manjira and others rather than loops.”
