London-based electronic music act Juno Reactor, who composed The Matrix score, to perform in Mumbai on Holi

Electronica ensemble Juno Reactor has carved a niche for itself for adding multiple art forms (theatre, music and cinema) to its live acts. Ahead of their gig — 3rd Rock Entertainment Electronic Dance Music Holi — next month, the venue for which is yet to be decided, band member Ben Watkins talks about his plans.



What will you play for the Mumbai audience?

I am likely to play a new set of tracks from my upcoming album. The audiences are going to enjoy it. I have played at Blue Frog in Mumbai before and I know what the crowd over there prefers.

Will you play Bollywood music?
Well, it may surprise you that I do love Bollywood music. I got a hang of it after I started watching Mira Nair’s movies. I am deeply inspired by some of her awesome films. But I might just skip playing it. I have heard many Bollywood tracks and I always love the tunes and the sounds. I would love to compose for Bollywood. I love experimenting, and this will be new for me. During this tour, I am looking forward to meeting the Indian music producers, among them the band Agnee.

Will you perform the soudtracks from The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and other Hollywood films that you’ve composed for?
I will play most of my popular tracks. I’ve heard that it (Matrix Reloaded) is a popular film in India. I will play the Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997) soundtrack as well. Hope the people in Mumbai like my selection of music. I guess my audience knows everything about my music.
