Making Music
Kanye West first rose to fame as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, where he got recognition for his work on Jay-Z's album The Blueprint, as well as hit singles for musical artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Janet Jackson. His style of production originally used pitched-up vocal samples from soul songs incorporated with his own drums and instruments.

As of 2012, The hip-hop singer has won a total of eighteen Grammy Awards, making him one of the most awarded artists of all-time. All his albums have been commercially successful, with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy becoming his fourth consecutive no. 1 album in the US upon release.

His last album, released in 2011 was a collaborative release with Jay-Z called, Watch the Throne. It was not only critically acclaimed but was also a commercial success. Rapping is just one of his talents; he not only sings but is also a songwriter, record producer, fashion designer and music video director.

"I have started a new company and I'm so excited about the name.... it's got the best name ever of all companies of all time!!! The name of the company is DONDA," wrote the musician.

West, who premiered his women's fashion label DW at Paris Fashion Week in October, says the new company will "galvanize amazing thinkers," ranging from architects and clothing designers to "tech guys" and doctors.

West says the firm will comprise 22 divisions, explaining the goal is to "make products and experiences that people want and can afford." The star even provided the email address contactDONDA@gmail.com for people to get in contact about the venture.

The rapper-turned-fashion designer has also set his sights on building an amusement park. "What I want to do post-Grammys is I want to work on cities, I want to work on amusement parks, I want to change entertainment experiences or life," contactmusic.com quoted West as saying.

West has already used his fame and success to open his own restaurant chain and has launched a women's clothing line. He also premiered his first short movie Cruel Summer at the 65th Cannes film festival.

Strictly Personal

The American musician has also lately been in news for dating reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Kim is currently in the middle of her divorce proceedings. The lovebirds have been spotted at various places and reportedly planning to move in together. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have both discreetly listed their homes for sale, so that they can move in together, reports hint.

Kanye West puts his arm around Kim Kardashian as they watch Los Angeles Lakers take on the Denver Nuggets in Game Seven of the Western Conference Quarterfinals in the 2012 NBA Playoffs on May 12.

It has been reported that West is getting impatient as it is taking longer than expected for Kardashian and Kris Humphries to get separated. West seems eager because he is looking forward to propose and marry her. He previously dated designer Alexis Phifer with whom he ended his 18-month engagement in 2008. He has also been linked to American model and socialite, Amber Rose.

Controversy Spinner
Kanye has been in controversies since the begining of his career and for various issues. In 2005, during a concert West deviated from his script and started speaking about the then president of US, George Bush. He said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

In January 2006, West again sparked controversy when he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone in the image of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns.

In November, 2010, in a taped interview with Matt Lauer for the Today Show, West expressed regret for his criticism of Bush. "I would tell George Bush in my moment of frustration, I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," he told Lauer.

There were mixed reactions, some felt that West had no need to apologize.

Despite all the thick and thin in his life, Kanye has emerged as a successful musician and we wish him all the luck for his career and love life!
