I am not trying to follow any trend: Sunidhi Chauhan

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan says she is not trying to blend into any trend by entering the world of cinema.

Singers such as Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mika Singh and Shaan are some artists who have tried their hand at acting. The latest to catch on to this trend is Sunidhi Chauhan. However, she vehemently believes that this is not an effort to blend in the industry.

“I am not following a trend. Had I been doing that, I would have taken up acting before. It is not about trying to be accepted in something new, but to get an interesting change in my life,” says Chauhan, who forayed into acting recently with a short film titled Playing Priya directed by Arif Ali.

Does this mean that singing has started making her life monotonous? “Of course not,” says Chauhan. She adds, “For me singing has become a part of my personal life because it has brought so much love for me. I wanted to try something different so I took up acting.”

The 32-year-old- singer, who has confessed that she is open to more acting projects, feels singing, will never go away from her life . She says, “No, that won’t happen because I am doing something that I love. It is not a job. I just came back from my tour. It was a different level of amazing. I am growing in my area of singing and that will keep happening and won’t stop.”
