“We are excited about coming to India. It’s one of the few places we haven’t been to. We had no idea that our songs were being played on TV and radio there, and the fact that we are popular. We have heard a lot about India’s culture and food and are looking forward to experiencing it firsthand,” said Pierre Bouvier, the lead vocalist of the band, which is known for their hit singles like ‘Addicted’, ‘Untitled’ and ‘Welcome to my life’.

The student representatives of Mood-I claim that they wanted their event to stand out among the many other rock and death metal bands coming to the country in the next few months.

“We wanted to do something different this time, which is why we thought of a punk rock band. The idea is also to expand our family; we’ve had bands from different genres like Porcupine Tree and Ensiferum perform here. And we want to keep that tradition going,” says Palash Kulkarni, head, media relations, Mood-I.

The negotiations went on for four months. Taking one step at a time, and after many long conversations with their management, things finally started falling in place. Now when we look back we feel that all that hard work has paid off”, says Abhishek Goel, head of the concert, Mood- I.

* 2009: Porcupine Tree, UK (Alt-psychedelic-rock)
