Much to the disappointment of music enthusiasts, Delhi-based fusion group Faridkot has disbanded, for unknown reasons. The Facebook page of the band stood deactivated on Wednesday and the official website read ‘The band has been disbanded’.
“We are in the process of settling some legal issues. We had put the statement on our website but have removed it now,” says Akshay Raheja, the keyboard player with the band, that was formed in 2008 and rose to popularity with their tracks, Laila and Haal-e-Dil. They mentioned ‘confused pop’ as their genre.
When asked about the reason for the split, Raheja says, “I’m not supposed to tell anything to the media. There’s a lot of confusion at the moment. All the members are in talks and we are trying our best to resolve the matter. It’s too early to comment.”

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, the news has created quite a flutter on the internet, with Bands Association of Delhi posting the news on their Facebook page. “Dislike... band was great... man” posted Ritesh Verma. “Used to love their songs... this is bad news,” posted Ankit. “This band was just awesome! I’m gonna miss them badly,” wrote Aarun Kashyap. Popular international bands that got disbanded recently include The White Stripes and REM.
