“A jam like this basically builds a sense of community. It gives kids a chance to play an instrument in the company of others. That way, besides playing what they want, they also learn to respect their fellow players and what they are playing,” says drummer-percussionist Roberto Narain, who will be hosting the session.

Revealing why this children’s workshop is special, he says, “Kids have a fresh perspective on anything and everything and that reflects in the jam. Also, such a workshop is different because of the number of older women, who’re mothers of the kids participating, in the jam who want to learn music.”
