Lata Mangeshkar award for singer Hariharan
The Madhya Pradesh government today announced to confer its prestigious Lata Mangeshkar Samman Alankaran to Bollywood playback singer Hariharan. Hariharan would be the 28th recipient of the award.

The Madhya Pradesh government today announced to confer its prestigious 'Lata Mangeshkar Samman Alankaran' to Bollywood playback singer Hariharan. Hariharan would be the 28th recipient of the award. The singer would receive the award at a function here next month, the selection committee said.
Hariharan had received the Padma Shri in 2004.
The Lata Mangeshkar award is given to a musician and a playback singer in the alternate year. Last year, Rajesh Roshan was named for the award. Legendary musician Naushad was the first to receive this award in 1984-85.
