Lennon’s Indian fan

Musician Suraj Jagan, who sang the hit song Give Me Some Sunshine, in the 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots, is the only Indian to feature in an online birthday tribute video to late Beatle John Lennon.

Musician Suraj Jagan, who sang the hit song Give Me Some Sunshine, in the 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots, is the only Indian to feature in an online birthday tribute video to late Beatle John Lennon. The video, which released last month, is a collaboration between record label EMI, YouTube and Lenon’s widow Yoko Ono. It marks Lennon’s 70th birth anniversary, and features musicians such as Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. "EMI approached me and I got on board instantly," says Jagan. minute clip, Jagan has spoken about his favourite Lennon track, A Hard Day’s Night. "Lennon was one of the few musicians I’ve looked up to ever since my uncle in London brought me cassettes of the Beatles."

Proud of the video, he adds, “In less than a month, the viewer count already has gone up to roughly 40,000.”
