For DJ-producer Mux Mool, there’s no stopping when it comes to experiments. Having released two albums and several EPs that showcase his range of genre-defying, avante garde electronic dance music (EDM), the American artiste is also credited for marrying two very varied styles — the glitch-laden electronica as heard in popular video games and hip-hop.
“Video games were a huge part of my upbringing. I’ve always been more attracted to lo-fi (low fidelity) sounds. Plus, there was a whole world of great video game sounds left untouched by the hip-hop world,” says Mux. He will perform in the city tomorrow as part of the Heineken Green Room (HGR), a music initiative that makes its debut in India after being a success across the world.
“The idea is showcase unusual artistes that people haven’t heard of. Once every quarter of a year, we will be hosting artistes across genres as part of this programme,” says Samar Singh Sheikhawat, senior VP, marketing, UB Group.

Aiming to bring artistes closer to their fans, every performance in HGR will be preceded by an interactive session where music aficionados and performers can discuss all things music.
Mux, who promises to play “a fun, new form of EDM” during his three-city tour in India, is also looking forward to another thrill — food. “I’m going to eat whatever I can. I’m really excited about the food here,” he says.
