My body of work is witness to my originality: Mithoon on plagiarism charges

Music composer Mithoon says his ten years in the industry bear witness to his originality and credibility.

Music composer Mithoon isn’t bothered about singer-composer, Amaal Malik’s plagiarism accusations against him. “I am not really bothered about what someone has to say about my music. I like to concentrate on my work and that’s how I have been. I don’t want to waste my time thinking about all this,” he says. “This is my tenth year in the industry and my body of work bears witness to my credibility and originality. Composing music is a very sacred space for me,” he adds.

Earlier this month, composer Amaal Malik had taken to facebook, to accuse Mithoon of lifting his song, Main Rahoon, for the latter’s latest single, Ab Alvida. The 26-year-old had later told us that he just wanted a one on one conversation with Mithoon to sort out differences. However, a few days later, Mithoon too, took to facebook and asked Amaal to “take the legal route,” if he has any problems with Mithoon’s tune.

Mithoon recently wrapped up producing the music score for actor Ajay Devgn’s recently released film and doesn’t want to further discuss the controversy. “I don’t want to talk much about it. I have said what I had to,” he says.
