This weekend, the Capital will see the debut performance of the Delhi-based band - Strange Weather, which will present an eclectic mix of music, ranging from funk to R n B. We get you more about this new band on the block.

What do they feel about their debut performance?

They are a bit nervous, but feel that some really good energy on stage will help them perform well.

How did they form the band?

Jayant and Udayraj became good friends when they attended a music workshop together. They found out that their common love was for funk and jazz music. Jayant contacted Bhanu, and Strange Weather was born. Shashank was the last to join the group.

What sort of music can we expect from Strange Weather?

A blend of styles, such as, funk, blues, and jazz. As per them, all their compositions are original.

Why this name?

Strange Weather, as the name suggests, is something which is unexpected. In the same way, they wish to be magical and whimsical about their acts.

Since this is going to be their debut gig, they hope that people will respond quite well.

What do they think of the music scene at Delhi University (DU)? Has it changed over the years?

They feel that there is a lot of competition in D.U. They also think that the quality of bands has been steadily improving.

What event has inspired them?

When they were jamming in their jam room at Lajpat Nagar, they felt a collective energy.

Which place, as per them, is the best in the city to make music?

The JNU campus, as open spaces and greenery can fuel creativity.

Do they think Delhi inspires artists?

Yes. They think the Delhi music scene is both rich and diverse.

Has the music scene in the Capital changed in the last five years? How and why?

They feel that there are now many new venues, festivals and opportunity for musicians.

If they could play at any gig in the world, it would be...

Royal Albert Hall.
