Pakistani artistes should express grief over loss of lives in Uri: Sukhwinder

As the film industry stands divided on the ban of Pakistani artists in India, singer Sukhwinder Singh feels it is important for every artist to condemn terror attacks, including Pakistani artists.

Singer Sukhwinder Singh says Pakistani artists must be afraid of saying anything which will lead them in trouble.

“When it comes to language, capability or art, India and Pakistan are the same. Kam se kam woh jab India aaye toh thoda afsos jatate (When Pakistani artists come to India, they should express some grief). The only thing they have to do is when they visit our country and get love and fame, they should also express their views on such issues. If nothing, then they can express sadness over the loss of lives (in Uri Attack),” says Singh, who recently sang a track for actor Ajay Devgn’s upcoming directorial.

Singh, who has given numerous hit tracks such as Chaiyya Chaiyya, Jai Ho, Ramta Jogi and Bajaara, feels it is important to accept changes in the industry, “My first priority is to give simple deliverance in terms of music. No matter how the times and technology change, this is my priority. I am a flexible artist and can easily accept the changing trends without any hassle. Cinema is known for conviction. So, if a particular kind of song is becoming popular or a certain kind of genre is in public demand, I don’t say no to trying it at any cost,” he says.
