After testing waters in the Indi-pop circuit, Shibani Kashyap feels its time to venture into new territory.

After testing waters in the Indi-pop circuit, Shibani Kashyap of Ho Gayee Hai Mohabat fame, feels its time to venture into new territory. She plans to open up an academy that will teach young people everything from personality development to anchoring.

“It’s not that I have bid goodbye to music. Music is my passion and will remain so, but there is a need to do new things as well,” says Kashyap. With fingers in many a pie, Shibani is a busy bee. The academy in partnership with emcee Nitin Arora will be launched later this year. So how different will be her academy from others? “My academy is going to focus on the all-round development of youngsters. It will teach the basic nuances of anchoring, acting and stage presence,” says she. Kashyap feels that young people are now looking towards alternative career options in anchoring.

Shibani was last heard in Waisa Bhi Hota Hai II, starring Arshad Warsi, where she acted besides lending her beautiful voice. “I did a small cameo in the film where I played myself. It was fun,” says Shibani, adding that she was now looking towards Bollywood and crossover cinema.

Why this title? “That’s a tagline which everyone says and is kind of witty yet sends out a positive connotation,” says Shibani.
