Singer’s name goes missing in credits

After the infamous goof up by Fox Studios and Sony Music on Quick Gun Murugun, where the name of the composer, Sagar Desai, was left out, now T-Series has committed a slip-up on similar lines.

Raja Mushtaq, whose single, Bhangra Knights vs Husan, made it to No 7 at UK’s Top of the Pops a few years ago, was spotted by composer duo Sajid-Wajid on a TV show, Bollywood Club, and impressed, the duo gave the singer a break for Salman Khan-starrer Wanted.

Mushtaq, who has sung the song Le le mazaa le along with Soumya Rao, finally made his debut in Bollywood after years of struggling. But the singer was in for a shock when he found out that his name was missing from the credits at the album’s music launch.

Says Mushtaq, “I suppose the record label overlooked the mistake because I’m a new singer and they were not familiar with my name. If it would have been a well-known singer, they probably would have been more careful.”

But Mushtaq puts on a brave face about the fiasco, “It was a genuine mistake and Sajid-Wajid, who couldn’t have done anything, have even tendered an apology. I’m new in the market and don’t want to fight, so I’ve moved on. What matters is that I’m singing more tracks for Sajid-Wajid in their upcoming movies”
