Earlier known as the Big Bang Blues Band - a tongue twister for the vocalist Ipshita Roy herself, who messed up the name during a live show, they now call themselves the Big Bang Blues - their music is the 'starting of new things in contemporary blues and also has an intense (banging) signature sound'.

From Mark 'cowboy' Mowry s American influences to vocalist Ipshita's 'Hindustani Classical' nuances, the band's sound is as unique as its six members who consider themselves 'married' to the band. Says Guitarist Sushant Thakur, "We've been together for the past two years and we bond so well that we would rather sort out our musical differences then choose a different direction. We mix up diverse influences into our music. Mark adds the authenticity while the drummer adds the hard texture to our sound.

Be it Lovestuck Blues to Wild About That Thing, the band has an impressive assortment of original songs inspired by personal experiences. But the band is realistic about the importance of doing covers for the Indian audience. As Ipshita reveals, "International and Indian is very different when it comes to English music. Doing covers is important to break onto the scene. With covers, the audience gets to know your sound, and then only originals come into play."
