British electronic dance music act The Prodigy is all set to shake Delhi up.

British electronic dance music act The Prodigy is all set to shake Delhi up. The group will headline a music fest called Invasion slated for January 15, 2011 in Delhi . They are known primarily for their hits such as Firestarter, Out of Space and Smack my Bitch Up.

The group has sold over 25 million records all over the world and is known to be one of the pioneers of the big beat genre alongside The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. “We are psyched to be coming to play our music in India. It will be our first time there so we don’t know what to expect which is exciting for us. We know we will do our job of smashin’ the place apart with our music. See u there!” says an enthusiastic Howlett’s via an email. The current line up of the Grammy nominated group includes composer/keyboardist Liam Howlett, vocalist/dancer Keith Flint and beatbox/vocalist Maxim.

The band that started in 1990s again hit the no. 1 spot on the UK charts with their 2009 album Invaders Must Die. Invasion, which will be held in Bengaluru as well, will also feature other ‘high-energy’ acts including India’s own electro-rock act Pentagram.

Vocalist Vishal Dadlani, who is also the other half of the famed Bollywood composer duo Vishal-Shekhar says, “Holy f**k, it’s The Prodigy! What’s not to be excited about? This is the band that redefined electro rock. I’ve seen them live at Glastonbury and Reading music festivals and it’s energy and it’s just pure adrenaline.” Vishal, in fact is also a part of the organising setup for the festival.

The festival is organised by India’s leading music and event managing firm Only Much Louder; in collaboration with UKNY Music, a leading UK-based music and events company.
