Who are they?
A Delhi-based band called Cuenta Cuentos. Though they don’t mind experimenting with the genre, they usually perform Jazz or Pop.

It’s been two and a half years since they have come together. Theirs is not a permanent band; they come together at the time of any performance.
Why this name?
They were trying to find a Spanish name as in the beginning, their music was mainly going to be Spanish. So, it was then that they decided on this name, which means storytelling in Spanish.
What makes them click?
When they get tired of playing the same stuff over and over again, trying something new comes across as a breath of fresh air. All the members in the band feel that way.
Why they love to perform in Delhi?
Where else can one be the only band playing Spanish and Portuguese songs. The city’s audience is open to new music.
What are they remembered best for?
They aren’t remembered for any awards or albums, but for playing at weddings, thus providing a unique touch to the ceremonies.

The lead vocalist
Parvati M Krishnan, 24, trained in Hindustani classical music, she is the lead vocalist of the band. A graduate from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, she can sing in five languages, including Brazilian, Spanish and Portuguese. “I have no formal training in any of these languages, but I have learned them as I try to understand the lyrics of the songs,” she says. According to her, the band is just crazy! “We are all super good buddies,” she adds.
