Tripping to LSD

If you've stayed in the North Indian belt for some time, you are likely to know the effect that the sound of the dholak has on its people. Add to that some booze and a party, and you have a heady concoction that brings out the primal instincts in them, especially on the dance floor. The music of LSD makes you want to head to one of those parties, and let your hair, shirt, pants, and body loose.

Sneha Khanwalkar, who scored music for the highly underrated, cult soundtrack of Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye, does a terrific job in composing quirky, eccentric melodies on the wackiest and most primitive lyrics you'd hear.

And this is Kailash Kher's album, as much as it is Khanwalkar's. The 'sufi' singer is blissfully out of control here, and sings songs that go, 'Love sex aur dhokha', 'Tainu TV per wekhya' and 'Tu gandi achchi lagti hai' to a kinky, shady perfection. For good measure, two of Kher's best songs by his band, Kailasa, 'Na batati tu' and 'Tauba tauba' are also on the CD.

LSD's music is as imaginative as Bollywood could possibly get (there's even a parody on Yashraj-esque romantic songs!). Buy it, and go nuts.
