“Bahut hi kharab band hai hamara (our band is really bad) and I am a very bad vocalist,” laughs Vir. “I used to sing in a college band and would do covers of Bon Jovi and Metallica. And I should have let it (singing) go then. With age and maturity, you should let such stupid and childish fantasies go, but I haven’t.”

He adds, “We also plan to go on an all-India tour to promote it. I play guitar and sing stupid lyrics in equally stupid songs. But it comes with good rock music,” he says.

According to Vir, when people listen to their songs, they shouldn’t know whether it’s a rock performance or a comedy show. “It should give a feeling of both,” says Vir, adding that the band also plans to make songs for a forthcoming film.

Bollywood bound

Meanwhile, Vir is also set to hit the Bollywood awards show stage with his Delhi Belly song, ‘Jaa chudail…’ “I have realised the power of a hit Bollywood number. People are calling me and asking, ‘

?’ And I will do it. You might see me dancing to the song at a few award functions this year. It’s insane,” he informs.

The 32-year-old admits that he was terrified while shooting the song. “After all, Farah (Khan, choreographer) is known as a tough

taskmaster. Plus, she did my song after ‘Munni…’ and ‘Sheila…’ So, I ended up rehearsing for three weeks, which is new because stars do fewer rehearsals,” he says.
