It’s time for Gulzar fans to rejoice. A four-day festival celebrating the work of the poet and lyricist will be held in the city later this month. Entitled ‘Mera Kuch Samaan - Celebrating Gulzar Season - 2’, the event will feature three plays with poems and stories written by Gulzar and performances by actors like Atul Kulkarni, Lubna Salim and Jamil Khan. The last day includes a conversation with the poet.

Tickle your funny bone with Black Dog Easy Evenings where stand-up comedian Sorabh Pant, also known as @hankypanty on twitter, goes all out to make you laugh with his no-holds-barred brand of comedy. A star on the circuit, Pant’s quick wit and wicked sense of humour spares no one. The Mumbai-based artist will be doing a performance in celebration of his debut novel The Wednesday Soul. This will be followed by some uncensored, rip-roaring comedy.

Zubaan Books continues its Zubaan Talkies (ZT) series with an evening of feminist stand-up comedy called, quite aptly, Why Did The Feminist Cross The Road? The fifth in the ongoing series held on the second Thursday of every month, ZT aims to be a platform for nurturing feminist thought across various disciplines. The idea is to encourage those outside the movement to participate and learn about issues concerning women. Each ZT is a curated event and features screenings, performance art, discussions, readings, stand-up comedy acts and workshops, among other things.
