Mani Ratnam’s Raavan’s music was launched last Saturday at Yash Raj studio in the city. Two days later, playback singer Sonu Niigaam tweeted: Ravana's music launched. I am a part of it, and I learnt about it from the TV.

Within an hour of posting the message, Niigaam withdrew it. Reason: He was informed that his song is missing from the album. His next tweet read: “Sang for Ravana. Guess the song doesn't exist anymore. The one in Tamil is still there by the way. So don't bother guys.”

When quizzed on the subject, Niigaam says that he recorded the track with AR Rahman: ‘I don’t know what happened after that. Maybe Rahman got someone else to re-record it or maybe he just didn’t include it in the score. I’ve yet to see even the album cover. And till I do, I can’t comment further.”
