VARANSI: An alert has been sounded over the deadly Zika virus in the district following instructions by the health directorate. Officials at the Lal Bahadur Shastri international airport have been also asked to ensure medical check-up of passengers coming from countries facing Zika threat. Passengers showing Zika symptoms will be kept either in an isolated ward or at their homes for 21 days. Varanasi chief medical officer BB Singh said preventive measures had been taken for the same and the department was already on alert.
