THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The day the BJP organised a rally in front of the CPI(M) headquarters in New Delhi to protest attacks on saffron forces, a CPI(M) worker was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of RSS-BJP workers in north Kerala’s Kannur.

Police said Mohanan, a 40-year-old party branch secretary, was attacked at his toddy shop in Pathiriyad that falls in chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s assembly constituency Dharmadom.
Critically injured, he died on way to the Kozhikode Government Medical College. Another party worker received stab wounds while trying to prevent the attack.
