This is the third time the state government has extended the term of the one-man commission of inquiry since its constitution in May 2015.

Justice Dhingra t old HT that he had completed the inquiry. However, he was handed a bunch of documents in the morning, which he said had details of benami properties benefitting some persons in Gurgaon.

“I emailed the chief minister, seeking his consent to give my extension to study them before finalising my report,” he said.

The commission is said to have already dug into the information from about 250 files pertaining to over a hundred licences, CLUs (change of land use), and layout plans and quizzed 26 senior bureaucrats at a specially set up court in Gurgaon.

“I will always be used for political gains, I know... But I will walk with my head held high as in time and with the truth, which will conquer incorrect perceptions, created! about me,” the businessman wrote in a post on Facebook.
