Two of its men died making similar kinds of grenades in Burdwan in West Bengal in 2014, counter terror officials told HT.

A team of experts from the National Security Guard (NSG), the country’s anti-terror commando force, will go to Bangladesh to study the tactics adopted and weapons used by the Dhaka attackers. Bangladeshi counter-terror officials said initial probe indicated the involvement of JMB cadres — who may have been inspired by Islamic State — in the Dhaka attack in which 20 foreigners were killed.
