One of my schoolteachers still writes to me every month, says PM

Talking about teachers in his Mann Ki Baat radio address on Sunday, Modi went down the memory lane and said he remembered many things about his teachers who were treated as “heroes” in his small Gujarat village.
The PM said one of his schoolteachers continues to write to him every month. “His age is over 90. Still, he sends handwritten letters every month. Whatever books he has read, he writes about them and he quotes from those books.”
Modi told his audience that the teacher also “gives opinion on what I have done during the month, whether it was right or wrong”.
“As if he is still teaching me in the classroom. He is still continuing a somewhat correspondence course with me. I am still impressed to see his neat handwriting even at the age of 90. Whenever I see such good handwriting, I feel very happy.”
The PM quipped that his own handwriting is very good. He asked listeners to post their experience with teachers on the Narendra Modi app along with photographs. “Looking at the contribution of teachers from the eyes of a student is a valuable experience,” Modi said while talking about the upcoming Teachers’ Day on September 5.
