KANPUR: An attempt to take the perfect selfie took a tragic turn when seven men, including two siblings, were swept away by the fast currents of the Ganga at the Ganga Barrage on Wednesday. The bodies of the deceased, aged between 21- 23 years, were recovered after three hours of search operation. According to the Kohna police, the men went to Ganga Barrage from gate number one around 10.30 am and were taking selfies on the stairs. Suddenly, one of them slipped and fell into the river and was swept away. The others, either in a state of panic or in a bid to rescue their friend, jumped into the river but failed to make it to the shore.
