Addressing BJP office-bearers ahead of the party’s national executive meeting, Modi said that the party’s political rivals would keep looking for excuses to target the BJP. “You should never take them lightly. We should respond to them with our work,” he said.

In his inaugural speech at the executive committee meeting, party chief Amit Shah trained guns at the Congress saying it was getting “increasing weakened” and its “atrophy is growing at an alarming pace due to its policy of repeatedly obstructing the government’s path to development” in the last two years. Shah asserted that the rise of the BJP was because of its ideology, hard work of the party workers and conduct of leaders, not just because of the weakening of the Congress.

The PM laid special focus on involving youth in decision-making and reminded the party that over 11 crore people, who joined the BJP after it came to power, should be effectively used to propagate the message of the party.
