MUMBAI: For Nithya Balasubramanian, who secured 85.60% in the SSC, it was more than just an exam. The 15-year-old suffered a paralytic attack exactly a week before her preliminary exams on January 9. Even though her parents suggested she skip the exams, Nithya persisted saying she did not want to “waste a year”. “The paralytic attack resulted in numbness starting from my neck downwards. I couldn’t write a word, I had a writer,” said Nithya, who aspires to become an IAS officer and so, will be taking up arts in eleventh standard.
