‘Bisada accused have admitted that they were on the spot’

“Technical investigation has confirmed that all the five accused, who were arrested from Bisada on Monday, were present in the village (at the time of the incident). The accused have also admitted that they were present at the spot. But they have denied being involved in the crime,” said Anurag Singh, deputy superintendent of police, Dadri. “We have video proof of all the 10 accused, who were arrested earlier, confessing to their role in attacking Mohammad Ikhlaq’s house,” Singh said.

To strengthen the case, the investigators are trying to make at least one of the accused an approver in the case.

On Monday, the police arrested five persons, including home guard of the UP police, for their alleged involvement in the case.

“The home guard, Vinay, was present on the spot at the time of the incident. His involvement in the case is a matter of investigation. Other accused Ravin is an electrician. Rest of the two accused, Hariom and Arun, are unemployed. One of the accused is a juvenile and was sent to the juvenile home,” Singh said.

So far, 15 persons, including two juveniles, have been arrested in the case. Except the juveniles, all other accused are lodged in the city jail.

Meanwhile, the counsel of a juvenile has accused the police of framing his client. “The police cannot turn any of the young men approver as they are innocent. They were picked randomly without investigation,” said Thakur Shishpal, counsel of the juvenile who was arrested from Delhi in October.
