As many as 2,947 Form 6, the application for inclusion of name in the electoral roll, were received on Sunday in Gautam Budh Nagar district comprising Noida, Dadri and Jewar assembly constituencies.
Additional district magistrate Kumar Vineet on Sunday said, “Today, a total of 2,947 Form 6 were received at the special camps. It includes 991 in Noida, 1,236 in Dadri and 720 in Jewar. Also, 99 Form 8 and 24 Form 8A were received.”
At the Sector 20 polling centre in Brahmananda Public School, seven booth level officers (BLO) were present. However, the centre received only 28 Form 6.
BLOs claim that though they had conducted a door-to-door drive and distributed Form 6 for new voters’ registration, the response has been weak.
BLO Sneh Lata said, “During my door-to-door campaign, I had given 12 Form 6 to different houses. None of them came to submit the form. There are 774 registered voters at my booth.”
“Door-to-door campaign ensures that all persons of voting age are registered. It also helps in deletion of names of those who have shifted to other places. Such persons were advised to submit their forms for changes and corrections at voters’ registration centre in Sector 19 at the city magistrate’s office complex. These applications require some fee deposit, so we can only help people with filling the form,” Lata said.

{{/usCountry}}Another BLO Satinder Kumar said, “I had given 15 Form 6 but haven’t received a single form.”
BLO Abhishek Vats said, “During such campaigns, in around 25% cases, people do not open their doors.”
At one booth, all the 10 forms given during door-to-door visit were received by the BLO.
This was the third camp since the drive for revision of electoral rolls was launched.
During the first special camp held on December 31, 2017, only 10 Form 6 were received.
In the second camp on January 7, just 20 forms were received and on January 21 just 28 forms were received.
BLOs attributed the poor response to the lack of awareness among residents.
The last such camp will be held on January 28 and those left out will have to contact the BLOs concerned for
registration.
