Security plans for Modi’s visit to Noida approved

The PM is to visit Noida to inaugurate the widening work on National Highway (NH) 24 and will also hold a public meeting at the Sector 62 ground. The SPG team visited the ground on Saturday and approved Noida police’s security plan.

SPG officials discussed the Modi’s travel route and gave instructions to the police and administration on security measures and other arrangements.

The team surveyed the helipad area, parking area and D-area of the ground. After a detailed two-hour survey, they held a meeting with Alok Sharma, inspector general (IG) of police of Meerut range, and the Gautam Budh Nagar administration to discuss further arrangements.

“We are making all arrangements as per the SPG officials’ instructions. As per the requirement, a request for 5,000 police personnel for security duty at the public meeting has been made to senior police officials,” said Kiran Sivakumar, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar.

The four parking spots have been identified by the traffic police whose team of 50 personnel will regulate traffic near the venue.

On Friday, Union minister and local MP Mahesh Sharma had visited the ground and spoken to officials over the arrangements there.
