The Inspector General (IG) of Meerut Zone, Sujeet Pandey, has issued a phone number to residents to be used as a complaint number. Any resident unhappy with the investigation of their cases can send an SMS on the phone number, he said.

Pandey gave his official contact number, 9454457712, to be circulated among the public on Sunday during an interactive session held by Kaushambi residents. Residents can SMS their complaint to this number along with their case number and name and he will make sure that the investigation in the case is expedited and the case is not closed, said Pandey.
The interactive session saw Pandey addressing a host of local issues concerning Kaushambi and Indirapuram.
“The IG said that the police post of Kaushambi, which comes under the jurisdiction of Indirapuram police post, will be made a reporting post where FIRs can be lodged instead of residents going to Indirapuram police station,” said VK Mittal, president of Kaushambi area residents’ welfare association (KARWA).
Pandey also said that 54 entry and exit points from Ghaziabad to other districts have been identified where police personnel will be deployed round the clock in order to keep increase security in the district.
