Two youths held for abducting, killing disc jockey in Muradnagar

The police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the abduction and murder of a disc jockey.

The police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a disc jockey (DJ). The accused Sachin, 25, and Bobby, 24, were arrested on Tuesday.

The incident happened a week ago when the victim, Rahul, was abducted in front of an eatery at Badalpur area while he was having tea with a co-worker. The police said Rahul’s bullet-riddled body was recovered from a canal in Muradnagar area on Monday. Rahul was a disc jockey in Badalpur.

“A police team from Badalpur found that the victim had sore relations with two persons-- Sachin and Bobby-- over some monetary issue. Both hail from Dadri area,” VK Pandey, in-charge, Badalpur police station, said.

The police said the suspects were traced in Dadri.

“It was found that the suspects were also missing from their residence for two days. Their call records and mobile locations were matched and it indicated that they were at the same locality from where Rahul’s body was found. When confronted with evidence, they broke down and confessed to their role in the crime,” Pandey said.

The police said last Monday, Bobby and Sachin abducted Rahul with the help of some friends in a Hyundai Santro. They drove him to Muradnagar where they shot him and dumped his body.

The police said Rahul’s colleague Ravi, 18, who was with him at the time of the abduction, has identified both the accused.

“We are yet to recover the weapon and the silver Hyundai Santro used in the crime. Investigation is on,” Pandey said.
