Udyog Marg one-way in Noida to be enforced from Monday

A week ago, the city police had sent an administrative order in this regard to the authority, confirming officially the conversion of the two-way Udyog Marg into one-way from January 23, 2016 for better traffic management.

Now, the authority will have to remove dividers on this four-kilometre stretch from Sector 1 to Jhundpur Sector 11. Besides, the authority will install traffic signage at selected locations and also widen the road near Harola.

Once the authority completes these works on the road, the traffic police can start fining those violating the norms on Udyog Marg.

The presence of dividers and traffic signals for two-way traffic and absence of traffic signage have confused commuters and lead to traffic mess on the route.

“We have requested the Noida authority to complete these works so that we can enforce traffic rules and fine commuters for violating one-way norms from Monday,” Dharmendra Singh Yadav, a traffic inspector, said.

Udyog Marg is widely used as it provides connectivity between industrial areas in sectors 1 to 11 and sectors 12, 22, 55, 56, 57, 58 and 62 and further.

“I have spoken to the Noida authority in this regard. I hope the authority will complete the work soon to make it fit for smooth vehicular movement. I have suggested Noida authority to install traffic signage and widen the stretch near Harola. The authority can remove dividers later,” NP Singh said.
