Riding on a massive lead, thanks to Major Ravi Rathore, 61st Cavalry defeated IPG 9-5 ½ to win the M3M Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup 2013.

Rathore scored five goals at the Jaipur Polo Ground on a balmy Sunday afternoon, as the Cavalry men dominated the proceedings in the first two chukkars by giving their rivals no room to score.

In the third and fourth chukkars, Bhawani Kalvi of IPG helped close the gap but some stunning defence by 61st Cavalry spoiled their chances. Kalvi scored four goals, but it was Rathore's day, who was declared the most valuable player of the tournament.
