Defending champion Pankaj Advani scored a thumping 3-1 win over Indonesian Ricky Yang to march into the quarter-finals of the English billiards singles at the Asian Games here Saturday.

Indian women also made it to the quarter-final of the 6-red snooker team event, beating Singapore 3-0.
Veteran Geet Sethi, however, missed out and suffered a shocking loss in his round of 16 match.
Advani beat Yang 101-27, 102-35, 100-26 and will now take on Praput Chaithanasakun of Thailand for a semi-final berth later in the day.
However, things did not go according to plan for the seasoned Sethi. The Indian lost a tight match to OO Nay Thway Oo of Myanmar 53-100, 87-100, 101-50, 79-100 and bowed out early in the competition.
Sethi had a bronze in the Doha edition four years ago.
In the women's 6-red snooker team event, Vidya Vishwanathan Pillai comfortably beat Shu Wah Hoe 35-2 in the first frame.
Chitra Magimarajan eased past Singaporean Zeet Huey Charlene Chai 19-7 in the second, hitting the highest break of 15.
