Batra likely IN IOA team

Towards its efforts to resolve the issue of the NOC suspension by IOC, VK Malhotra, the acting president of IOA, has recommended the name of Hockey India secretary-general Narinder Batra to be a part of the Indian delegation for the meeting at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne on May 15.

Towards its efforts to resolve the issue of the National Olympic Committee's (NOC) suspension by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), VK Malhotra, the acting president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), which is recognised by the IOC, has recommended the name of Hockey India secretary-general Narinder Batra to be a part of the Indian delegation for the meeting at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne on May 15.

The IOA will be represented by Malhotra and Randhir Singh, who is also an IOC member, while sports minister, Jitendra Singh, and secretary, sports, PK Deb, will represent the government.

To finalise its agenda and get Batra’s name cleared, Malhotra is expected to hold further discussions.
