“I am fit and fine. I skipped the Asians so that I could recover in time for the Thomas Cup but failed. But, now I have come back strong and will look to win some matches here,” said Anand.
Anand had been in Bangalore for treatment of his knee and a win at the India Open would boost his morale before taking the field in bigger tournaments. “A few wins under the belt here will surely be encouraging as I will next play the Singapore and Malaysia Super Series.”
Meanwhile, Delhi shuttler Mohita Sehdev got a walkover in her qualifying round against Radhika Singh.
