Indians disappoint in road cycling

Indian cyclists continued their dismal show in the Asian Games with Sombir finishing 15th in the men's Individual Time Trial while Sunita Devi signing off 10th in the women's section of the same event.

Indian cyclists continued their dismal show in the Asian Games with Sombir finishing 15th in the men's Individual Time Trial while Sunita Devi signing off 10th in the women's section of the same event.

Sombir clocked 1:16:45.24sec in the 53.4km race, covered in three laps of 17.8km each. Sunita, on the other hand, returned a timing of 56:00.87sec in the women's race which covers a distance of 35.6km in two laps of 17.8km each.

The men's gold was won by Choe Hyeong-Min (1:08:16.12sec) of Korea, the silver went to Kyrgyzstan's Eugen Wacker 1:08:26.91sec while the bronze was clinched by Hossein Askari Iran (1:08:48.49sec).

In the women's section, the gold Lee Min-Hye (49:38.35sec) notched up the gold, China's Jiang Fan (50:04.62sec) won the silver while Chanpeng Nontasin (51:37.11sec) of Thailand settled for the bronze.
