The margin too was more convincing — 3&2 as compared to yesterday’s 2&1. It was a grudge match as Rohana had lost to the ninth seed in a matchplay earlier, and the 35-year-old ensured a perfect start with a birdie.
Excellent putting (21 putts in 16 holes) may have been a vital cog in the verdict but the mind was shrouded in doubt when Rohana descended at the course earlier than scheduled. “I practiced quite a bit as my putting during SAIL Open was bad. The effort paid off,” he said.
