Monika began the snatch on a good note, lifting 95kg in her first attempt but failed to better the lift in the second and third attempt. In the clean and jerk, the Indian managed to lift 118kg in the first attempt. This was followed by a lift of 121kg but she failed in her third and last attempt trying 126. Her total was 216 kg.

Monika in way was lucky also as Cameron’s Dodo Madia’s Ngake got injured in her second clean and jerk attempt after she completed a successful lift of 121 and finished on the same total as that of the Indian.

The Indian, however, looked satisfied with the third place.
