Keeping in view the problems being faced by shooters in the north with the Karni Singh ranges closed for renovation, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) is exploring the possibility of opening a training centre near Delhi so that the training schedule of marksmen does not suffer.

NRAI president Digvijay Singh, on Monday, inaugurated a state-of-the-art 10m range inside the Rattan Convent School, Sikri, Ballabgarh (Faridabad) which could be used for various state and national-level events in the future.
The air-conditioned range also has the provision for a 25m firing points with electronic machines.
NRAI honorary secretary Deep Bhatia said the range would bring about a revolution in the area as more youngsters would take up the sport. “Besides, it could be an alternative venue to the Karni Singh range, which is undergoing renovation for the 2010 Games. There is also provision for the 25m range here,” he said.
