Para-athletes hungry for glory

Irrespective of the discipline, the 27-member strong para-athlete squad persists that the hunger to win remains unchanged. With a solid performance at the England Open last week, the Indian contingent is hoping to reap good results.

Irrespective of the discipline, the 27-member strong para-athlete squad persists that the hunger to win remains unchanged. With a solid performance at the England Open last week, the Indian contingent is hoping to reap good results.

They won five gold and two silver medals there but it’s the home performance that counts more for them. "For almost two years our athletes have been practising hard for the Games and now it’s time we deliver our best. Going by their present form, I am sure that we will win three or four medals in the athletics event only," saidcoach K.D. Singh.
