No politics, It is about 'Dutt' kaati roti: Shatru

The Samajwadi Party’s pick for the prestigious Lucknow Lok Sabha seat and Patna's own ‘bad-man-turned-do-gooder’ Shotgun Shatru turned up in Patna to stomp against cancer, reports Rakesh Verma.

Between the two ‘Cs’ — it's the death stalking cancer, not the Congress, which has put them on a common platform. Both, ‘Munnabhai’ Sanjay Dutt, possibly the most endearing of Mahatma Gandhi’s many avatars, incidentally the Samajwadi Party’s pick for the prestigious Lucknow Lok Sabha seat and Patna's own ‘bad-man-turned-do-gooder’ Shotgun Shatru turned up in Patna on Thursday to stomp against cancer.

Quizzed as to how Shatrughan Sinha, possibly the BJP’s most ‘secular’ face, would be sharing a platform with ‘BJP-baiters’ — Samajwadi Party’s Amar Singh and the party’s latest star entrant Sanjay Dutt — Shotgun reacted: "There is no politics here. It's about daat kati roti' relationship with late Sunil Duttji. Cancer is indeed a far more potent and immediate threat than the worst political party".Amar Singhji has been into social causes far more often than us", Sinha added.

“A five-year mandate, for any political party is a long time. Cancer does not wait that long. If detected early and with medicines working, there’s hope of survival. If not, it’s a certain death."

So, he is not taking the Patna Saheb seat for granted? Is he?

He added: "Sanjay, being the late Nargis Dutt’s only son, was the most appropriate person to inaugurate the alternative medicine centre at the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan as he understands well the trauma cancer patients undergo".

Sansthan Director, Dr Jitendra Singh, said over 1,060 cancer patients have so far been successfully treated by the Sansthan specialists, and with Shatrughan Sinha as the brand ambassador, “we expect things will get even better in the days ahead. The day is not far off when cancer patients from Bihar, instead of opting for facilities in bigger cities, will prefer to get themselves treated here itself.”
