Angelina Jolie is the Goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Since 2001, Jolie has been on field missions around the world and met with refugees and internally displaced persons in more than 20 countries. Leonado DiCaprio founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation and has worked with 24 orphaned children from the SOS Children's Village in Maputo, Mozambique for his film, Blood Diamond. In 1998, he donated $35,000 towards a computer centre named after him in a public library in his hometown Los Angeles. In 2007, DiCaprio presented the American leg of Live Earth and, alongwith Al Gore, announced that the Oscars had incorporated environmentally intelligent practices throughout their planning and production processes at the 2007 Oscar ceremony.

Hayden Panettiere has been involved in the effort to save the world’s endangered whales and dolphins since she was 15 years old. Now 22, she’s the spokesperson for the Whaleman Foundation, which fights to protect whales and dolphins from climate change, pollution, entanglements in fishing nets, and the expansion of whaling.

The former Miss Universe donned a dress made of lettuce leaves to promote vegetarianism for PETA. “Even seemingly small choices can have a big impact on our health, our community and the world around us”, says Lara. “Going vegetarian is one of the easiest ways to improve our health, help countless animals and protect the Earth.”
