The launch of India’s moon mission (Chandrayaan-2) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh at 2.43 pm was successful. This was the second attempt after the first bid on July 15 had to be aborted with an hour to go before the launch due to a technical glitch. (PTI)

Karnataka assembly speaker KR Ramesh asked 12 Congress legislators to meet him on Tuesday after the ruling Congress-Janata Dal(Secular) filed a petition to disqualify them. The Karnataka government plunged into crisis after 16 lawmakers – 13 from the Congress and three from the JD(S) – resigned roughly two weeks ago. Since then, one Congress MLA has signalled he would return to the party fold. (ANI)
