Photos: India’s Covid-19 epidemic growing at fastest rate globally

India’s Covid-19 epidemic is growing at the fastest speed worldwide, at 20% week on week, according to Bloomberg’s coronavirus tracker. The country touched a tally of 1.4 million coronavirus cases last week. As record spikes continue, nearly 50,000 cases were recorded from testing in last 24 hours on July 27. The same day, Prime Minister Narenda Modi reiterated to Indian citizens that the country is in a much better situation in its fight against Covid-19 with more than 11,000 covid facilities, more than 11 lakh isolation beds and around 5 lakh tests being carried out daily.
